I called the EXP line yesterday on this exact topic. The agent stated they have a special number that they can directly dial onto the US Airways side. She stated that this regardless if it was US or AA ticket paper. They put it in place to help EXP's out so they don't have to deal with the traditional US Reservation lines .... What I do recommend is that you do keep track of the AA and US record locators, and the original ticket number and flight start date. I started keeping track of this in a google spreadsheet so to minimize the lookup times so you can expedite the lookups for the agent since they might not have the information.

Thanks, this is very helpful. I ultimately "borrowed" the CP number from a friend and it got me through eventually and I managed to rebook for Saturday.
FWIW, the US site did not have the facility to rebook online, otherwise I would have happily done it that way.
