Budget? They did the same thing to me in London, and even charged my CC for $3000. Took 10 months to get that charge removed. Then the jerks tried sending it to a collection agency. NEVER USE BUDGET for any reason. They suck.
It wasn't Budget, but another nationally recognized brand. Someone said the same thing about Alamo (again not the one I used), so I guess it's not uncommon for these rental car places to shake down the renters.
