I think a lot of these animals are brought aboard by people who want to feel important and like celebrities. It all started when Paris Hilton began carting her purse-sized dog everywhere. Now for 60 bucks your dog too can be a ***service dog***.

Are there really that many people who need Gonzo or Fifi along to help them make it through a flight. What are they doing flying anyway if they can't handle a flight without their significant other? I don't remember that many people emotionally disturbed over flying.

And has anyone asked the pet if they really want to go on a trip? I'd guess they'd say no way Jose. It's cruel to take them away from their routine. And don't get me wrong, I have a dog whom I adore, but also care enough for to not subject her to the hassle of plane travel.

Let's not forget that carting your dog aboard as an ES animal saves $200 each way in fees. Money talks.
