Salmon is only fishy if it's old or if you eat the skin. The meat itself should be more...buttery than anything. At least, that's how it tastes to me.
Maybe "fishy" isn't the right word, perhaps, the word used in the link below, "distinctive" is more like it. Anyway, I like salmon, but for someone who doesn't like fish, in general, I'm not sure it's what I would recommend.
