It's a cool place. Not a whole lot to do but worth seeing for a day or so. I did two days there then three more when my Kenya Airways flight went mechanical. The zoo is horribly sad though. Driving out towards Gao is recommended, though might be a bit dicey at present w/ the general unrest. Should be safe in Bamako however.
