I used to live in Jakarta, and have visited Indonesia numerous times. I've
written about masakan Indonesia a few times - mainly from a
Jakartan perspective - and have come to the realization that my favorite meals in Southeast Asia are for the most part, desserts. There are a few regional Indonesian cuisines that I really like - Manadonese, Acehnese, some Sundanese - but colenak, kue lapis and onde2 get me nearly every time.
