While a nice benefit, I am going to go out on a limb and say that there is probably only a small fraction of premier members with low handicaps (15 or under) that would really enjoy playing a TPC course as well as someone that is willing to pay $150+ (after discount) for a round of golf.

As one of those members I can tell you that I agree. I'm a scratch and I wouldn't pay $150 to play most TPC courses. It's more like $250 if you're factoring in a tip for the caddy (the way a round should be played).
To me this is more marketing overload with no real value. United: focused on everything except actually operating an enjoyable airline.
