If you are interested in the newer history of Germany, technology, art or music, Bonn has something to offer as well:
- The "Deutsches Museum Bonn"
- The "Haus der Geschichte"
- The house of the famouse Ludwig van
- The Arithmeum (one of my favourite museums)

From Bonn you may hop on a train to the Ahr valley and enjoy a nice hike along the river Ahr. Or you get on a subway train to the famous "Drachenfels", known from the Nibelungenlied.

There are plenty of possibilities with a nice bar scene (because of many students at Bonn university) and quite nice restaurants. But I will understand, if you choose to get on a train to my home town Cologne ...
