Our next port of call was the Oberoi Lombok. This was going to involve a 30 min domestic flight with Merpati.
The flight booking online was simple and the flight was about $35. A bargain. An experience but one I am glad I took.
The Oberoi is the only real 5 star resort on Lombok and I have to say is impressive, in fact paradise. There are resorts that just make you relax the minute you arrive, the Oberoi is such a place. Perfect location and a staff to match.
The rooms are amazing as are most things. My only disappointment was the food. Don’t get me wrong its great but after 3 days you yearn for something else. This place gets my recommendation but only for a few days mainly for the limited food options and nothing else close by.
Its close proximity to the Gilli islands make it a good choice for Diving and Snorkelling and we done a day trip where we saw Turtles and lots of colorful fish.
Lombok is apparently the Bali of Old and I can only say go there and give the island some of your dollars. It is worth it.
A spectacular hotel in an amazing setting. my concern was what was going to top this place and would we be disappointed with our next hotel, the bar was high.
I Would not be disappointed.
