Key points:
- Booked a personal trip ATL-XXX a few days ago, standard T fare rules, one-way ticket
- Today, found out I have to be in YYY earlier that day
- Client was kind enough to book my return to XXX (cheaper than ATL, anyway)
- Client-booked trip is YYY-ATL-XXX, with ATL-XXX being the exact same flight I was already booked on.
My personal ticket is nonrefundable and the value is well below the $200 change fee, so no value in cancelling it for a partial refund.
Is there anything else I can/should do? I suppose I could put my seats together and guarantee an empty middle or something, or I could just toss the ticket and call it a day, but I figured I'd check FT first to see if anyone else had any creative ideas.
And while I am travelling ATL-XXX with some friends who have yet to book tickets, none of them have a name that even comes close to resembling mine.
The flight in question is only about 2 hours, so I'm not trying to mess around with doubling up on miles or anything like that. I just want to know if there's anything I can or should do with this extra ticket.
