First of all, Pilluello, my condolences. That's truly disgusting. As for compensation, if you have something specifically in mind, you need to ASK for it and not leave it up to the agent to decide. If you expect miles + cash to cover dry cleaning... ASK FOR IT. How are they to know what you want?

I believe your compensation amount also will vary greatly depending on how "valuable" you are at AA. There are EXP's around here that arent worth anything to AA (you know, those 4 CPM EXPs), while there are some Golds that may be worth many times that. That's from what I understand goes into your "Eagle" rating, which is completely confidential and you'll never know what your rating is.

But I have to say, I've complained about much, much less important things and received double what you got.
