Didn't say there was any mystique to it nor was my statement an absolute one

, but the small & mid-size companies I've worked with &, either as an employee or as a consultant, want hard copy receipts. I asked some friends & their companies are the same. I've got 2 biz trips/year that I've got multiple clients at & the expenses are divided evenly between them; they each get copies of receipts & none have requested electronic format. I do think it's probably more the norm for large corporations to have gone the electronic receipt format & if I was still working for F50/F500 I'd be doing the electronic receipt.

I've never had a bill change between 3-4am when the folios get dropped off & early morning departures. If you're talking after brekkie & you paid for it (vs. exec lounge for example) I could see it being slightly different, but normally what's been processed at 3am is what the final will look like. I review the folio that was slipped under my door while I'm brushing my teeth. If the folio is correct, there's no need for me to stop by the front desk to check out. So this is a YMMV.
Cheers.
