You can buy a data pass for faster data speeds. While you are connected to a 3G network, the speeds are slowed to 2G like speeds. I'm surprised that the standard speed was fast enough for FaceTime video calls.
FaceTime Video was not perfect -- it would freeze at time during the calls, but it was decent enough to talk with my wife. Would not recommend for meetings.
FaceTime audio worked out perfect, though.
