Sorry, I should have been more clear. This is an award ticket going ORD-SIN. Unfortunately, there aren't any NRT-SIN seats available. There aren't even any NRT-HKG-SIN seats. The best I could do was NRT-TPE-HKG-SIN, but that gave me a 45 minute connection at NRT which I think is too tight.
Instead, I'm going NRT-PEK (11h connection/overnight) then PEK-HKG-SIN the next morning on KA/CX. KA is available in F but the CX leg is not. Since I'm arriving in F and coming from a long-haul F flight I'm hoping I'll get into the F lounge in HKG for the 5-hour layover.
Complicated, I know. That's why I've come to the experts!

the rules are technically still as I stated... those can be found on the one world site... to access the F class lounge in HK you would need to arrive long haul F... connecting, same day, to short haul. PEK is not in that long haul category.
