A380
Seat 3A

Hard Product:
Seat is very large and it seems by the pictures of other A380s of different carriers, they are all roughly the same configuration. Bathroom is unnecessarily huge. It also has a bench for some reason. There's a lounge on the upper deck that could have easily seated 6 more Y. I don't think it was ever used during the flight. I feel like they had so much space on the A380 they didn't know what to do with it all. The best F seats are in the front since they get served first and are further away from the pantry. IFE is buggy and a bit slow. Some movies showed up more than once.

Stairs leading downstairs to the main cabin.

First Class lounge area.

Bench in the bathroom for some reason.

Service:
Very attentive, although a bit superficial at times. Staff is on the younger side. Ground service is phenomenal. Escort all the way through immigration by golf cart!

Food:
Delicious canapés. Excellent caviar. First course: marinated scallops, shrimp, salmon were way off. The presentation felt very superficial, but it had no taste whatsoever! Lobster was out of the park. Big, beautiful, tasty. Although it's more like lobster thermidor rather than "American sauce". Plating could be a bit better. After eating half of it, I got pretty full. Very salty and buttery. The breakfast pretty bad, but their Thai noodle soup saved the day. Overall, I think TG should stick to making Thai food instead of western.

Despite all the color, everything on this dish was literally tasteless.

This breakfast was plasticy and inedible.

Frito lays in cups. Seriously?

Golf cart transfer to immigration. About a 10 minute ride.

Separate immigration line for TG Business and First

Overall:
This was my first A380 flight. Love the new plane. The take off was very smooth and quite. Flight was hardly full F is 8/12. J is 48/60 Y 370/435. Slept for 7 hours and felt very refreshed. I was woken by the FA 1.5 hr before landing.

There was a certain je ne sais quoi that was missing on TG. Compared to other airlines (CX, LH, SQ), I felt that TG lacks some refinement in the details. For example the soap in the bathroom smelled like dish soap. The bathroom sink isn't large enough to wash your face without splashing all over. The snacks they put out are Frito lays in cups with cellophane. The food was inconsistent in quality. I also felt somewhat uncomfortable flying such a luxurious product when the average Thai citizen can't afford the same trip in economy.
