Probably the easiest away to distinguish is by looking for the overwing exit door which is present on the 77W but not on the 772. Other items unique to the 77W as mentioned include the raked wingtip and SATCOMM dome for wifi. Another distinguishing factor between AA's 77W and 772 are the engine types, though a bit more subtle to the untrained eye. The 77W has the massive GE90s which have a noticeably larger inlet area compared with the RR engines on the 772.
