LOL, no, certainly not from my perspective.
However, electrical items can have unexpected consequences. I can tell you a few funny ones relayed to me by my friends, although they did not involve clocks or ticking. They involved buzzing ladies' items which shall remain nameless on a family forum such as this, and the battery left in. The on switch apparently got accidentally pressed. Yes they did cause a false security alarm, and seriously embarrassed those involved.
They were indeed mistaken for suspicious items, so there is nothing to say that they don't do the same with a ticking item, even though when you hear hooves, you normally expect a horse and not a zebra if you are not hanging around the zebra-heavy area, and based on that, the assumption would normally be that it's a clock.
