There are normally two ticket windows open in PVD for amtrak. Unless there is some sort of natural disaster causing crazy delays, you shouldn't have a long wait in line there.

But as others have mentioned, if for some reason you don't want to deal with the agents at the window (who are all very nice except the cranky old guy), use your phone to either a) cancel on the app or b) call 1800 USA RAIL.
