I used to fly a lot with Virgin (Gold flying Club for almost 10 years consecutively) but now am down to Red as I almost always fly with BA.

I have over 200k Virgin miles (plus my wife has 100k or so) and I want to make sure these do not expire before I find a chance to use them on reward flights (which has always been quite difficult in my experience).

I was wondering whether it would work to buy a small amount of miles by transferring from Amex Membership rewards ?

Would my wife and I need to do separate transfers (presumably yes).

Otherwise - any other suggestions relevant to my situation - whereby I have the accumulated miles but am relatively unlikely to fly revenue flights on Virgin in the future ?
