Just as a tip, some agents don't know how to book the EI flights, and United does not have direct sell with EI. They will claim they cannot see these flights sometimes (and it books into "U" class for "United").
If you call an agent, tell them to look at "GG EI".
They'll end up making the reservation, but then you need to call back in 24 hours (before midnight on the next day) to get it ticketed, as EI has the right to reject the booking within 24 hours.

Not to sound like too much of a n00b here, but can you walk me through the steps of doing this?
I'm trying to book Aer Lingus's BOS-SNN flight (operated by Air Contractors) this August using United miles. I called the other day, and the agent said because it's operated by Air Contractors, I can't use miles as there's no agreement there. Is there a way to work around this?
