Remember of course that it must be in checked baggage due to the 3-1-1 liquid rules.
It shouldn't be an issue with Bourbon, but some rum has such high alcoholic content that airlines consider it hazardous and forbid it in cabin or checked bags. I don't know what the "proof" limit is for regularly scheduled passenger aircraft.
