I recently booked sgf-ord-nrt one way and also paid very minimal taxes. I, too, booked in first class. You will not be disappointed. The JL f class between ord and nrt was fantastic, equal with Cathay's but with a more comfortable bed in my opinion. I was lucky to be one of only 2 F pax on the flight and without even asking they made up one suite as a bed and left the one officially assigned to me for eating and watching tv. The food was superb. Only shortfall was the variety of programming was sad. Beautiful tv with little to watch on it compared to other carriers. With the other pax on the opposite side of the plane and non visible for most of the flight, it felt like a private jet.
