I don't mean to hijack the thread, but since you stayed there, perhaps you can offer some insight.
I booked a "Kadan Suite - Fuji/Ume" with an outdoor stone bath. It seems that these stone baths are nicer, but the rooms with wooden baths have better views (perhaps they are higher up?).
Did you get a sense for which type of room was better?
Think I answered you on PM, but I preferred the suites on the 4th and 5th floors with wooden baths - yes they are higher up as the hotel is sunken, so the roof height is not intrusive.
