As an update: Waited for the miles flown ie MCO -IAH - MCO to post and then contacted mp service centre by phone.

When explained to the CS rep that I was not looking for refund but the original mileage credit for the three legs I didn't fly due to the broken connection, the itin was quickly rebuilt and the miles posted less than 12 hours later.
