I see from the EDI airport site, I can check luggage in between 1800 and 2000 the night before a flight. Next week we are off on a long trip and are staying the night at the Hilton before the first LHR flight in the morning. Sounds an ideal plan for us only having to work with hand luggage in the morning

Used it a few times. No issues. Means more time in bed on an early flight which can only be a good thing.
The first time I used it I got the lounge attendant to check the luggage had been loaded but there was no need to worry but if you are concerned, you could do the same?
