Can't Get a Refund Confirmation - Huh?

Here's a new one - does this sound right to you? Today my SFO - SEA flight is operating out of San Jose because of bad weather at SFO. That doesn't work for me so I requested a refund. No problem so far. Then I requested an email confirmation of the amount and that the refund is being credited back to my Am Ex card. Problem. Apparently because my ticket was purchased through a travel agent (as required by my employer), they can't send me this email directly (even though the credit card used by the travel agent is my personal card).

While this is yet another reason to despise the agency my employer forces us to use, it does seem odd that I can't get notified that a credit is on the way (AS: feel free to XXX out most of the account numbers if you wish but how about some documentation? ) I haven't run across the problem with other airlines. Have you dealt with this before? Any work around?
