The official policy changes as of March 1st, so in theory it would not affect your trip; but........

One never knows if they may start making changes prior to March 1st. So I would highly suggest that should you decide to cancel that you do so prior to leaving Providence. In theory right now you should still be able to cancel and get a voucher issued in Boston after the fact. But I wouldn't take that gamble personally.

Especially since you can visit with an agent at PVD; call Amtrak at the toll free number to cancel; or as noted by 3Cforme use a smart phone to cancel. So I would try to do any of those 3 before you leave PVD.

And be sure to tell the agent that you want a voucher and not a refund; as the later will incur the 10% penalty.
