There is a German airline safety consultancy we had used a few years ago to evaluate Russian carriers- www.jacdec.de. They also rate EK among top 5 in safety. EY is among top 10. LH is 18th.
I had assumed that LH will be among the top ranked airlines in terms of safety- clearly my perception was wrong..
