No offense, but you had a carry-on that was larger than the clearly-stated dimensions and had multiple people tell you wouldn't be able to take it aboard without paying for it, and you're mad that you had to pay? I flew F9 a few weeks ago and it was simple...you measure your bags when they are fully packed, and if it's too big by even a fraction of an inch, you find another bag or you take something out. I don't understand people who knowingly try to bend the rules, then complain when they don't get their way.
