what bank is the check drawn on?

if it's a US bank that has operations in HK (citibank maybe?), then you may be able to take it to the bank locally in HK and cash it. they would probably charge you at least a foreign exchange fee to pay out in non-US dollars that the check is drawn on.

if you have a bank account in HK, then you should be able to just deposit it to your bank (there is probably a fee involved) and they will settle it for you in a week or two to your local HK bank account.
