I recently flew on the 787 from YYZ to ADD.
On the YYZ FCO leg, the FA's set all the windows to maximum dark shortly after the meal service. It was bright daylight outside, the individual window controls had been deactivated. They windows remained dark until about an hour before landing at FCO.
