Sorry to hear of your loss. It must have been made all the more difficult for you when travelling.

Last year a very close relative of mine passed away while I was in China and I had to come back a day early. I was in Xiamen and due to fly back with Dragon air to HKG and on from there. The flights had all been booked with a travel agent who at the time I needed to make the arrangements was not open. I called a BA number (I think it was in Germany) and they re-arranged all of my flights including the dragon air one from Xiamen. There was a £400 change fee, my ticket was a deeply discounted business one and I am sure there were no changes allowed. When I got to the lounge in HKG there must have been a note on my booking. My flight was running 45 minutes late and they offered to put me on the later flight leaving on time as I had a very tight connection.

BA really could not have done any more for me.
