Hi guys,

I'm planning a trip from the US (Las Vegas) to La Paz, then fly from Salta to El Calafate, finally Punta Arenas to Santiago. I will be flying from Santiago to Sydney as part of my return international airfare.

Looking at the prices on Kayak, the one way fare from Las Vegas cost around $850 USD? Which is not that different to return airfare. Is there any way to get cheaper one way airfares from the US? Also, noting the flights in South America is very expensive, with the Salta to El Calafate at around $400 (it was $300 a few weeks ago...) Does LAN or other airlines offer a cost effective solution for my needs above?
