I have no idea what the MOUs say but the single ops cert is only required for intermixing crews/planes, not trading routes with planes/crews. In theory a US crew could fly a US plane on an AA flight like BOS-ZRH and an AA crew/plane could be put on a US flight like PHL-LHR and the FAA would still be happy.
