The quote was that regional jets would be replaced by mainline service, not that props would be replaced by mainline service. Since AC doesn't have regional jets on CLE-YYZ they aren't the airline hinted at by the city.

I'm inclined to believe that you are correct on AA temporarily until the merger is complete. DL may switch DTW to (partially) mainline in order to get some former UA traffic, but certainly not MSP.

Seriously people, VFR is visual flight rules. We ought reject other uses. Webster would be tearing his hair out over how we are de-standardizing the language. Those of us for whom aviation is a serious matter know better. "Visiting Friends & Relatives" -- as Charlie Brown would say, Good Grief!
