I don't know about the legal position, but would have hoped the VS would feel morally obliged to book you in an alternative J seat. - maybe that this is a bit naive in this day and age though.

I completely agree with you, however business is business and Virgin wont pay out thousands for a business class seat...

Really is bad form on the airline. Op should go to the local press with that story!!
