Maximum Presidents Circle "guaranteed" upgrade will get you now, it would seem, to a Full Size, and previously to a Maxima/Taurus. If you got anything better than that, them it was your lucky day, based on availability vs reservations. People often were lucky, but there are absolutely no guarantees, and if you arrive when the lot is full and there is no shortage of cars, you won't get upgraded at all.

Really sound advice! Upgrades to Prestige are technically beyond the scope of any program, including Platinum. That is not to say they don't happen - there's plenty of evidence in this forum to that effect. And I can attest to many to Prestige from Full-size or Premium. The point is that as a PC you should not expect anything beyond the prescribed benefit - at some locations even that is far from guaranteed (threads ad nauseum). If you do receive a better upgrade, then you may consider it a good day. And you can always ask at the location about buy-ups and decide whether what's on offer is worth the extra $$.
