Will it make any sense to keep using this card past the first year?

Well it's not a cashback card giving 2.2%, since the pay yourself back cash is actually only 1%. I just tried to see what I'd get for 42000 points and i'd get $210. So, it's really only beneficial to use it to redeem for travel.

but, I have to say, it's awesome for that. as a previous poster said it essentially gives you 60.5% off.

buy $10,000 VR = cost to you of 20 cards @ $3.95 = $79
But you get 20,000 points which equates to $200 (ignoring the 10% redeemed miles back). so, it's really a great travel card.

updated to correct my bad math!
