EY is playing very dirty... one thing to man up and say we won't honor, another to lie and say payment problem...
I think the lesson here is to always book through the most reputable OTA you can find, instead of directly through the airline. While it makes it more difficult for you to make changes / deal with IRROPs, it makes it harder for the airline to claim payment issues.
