So I got all the noise normally blocked by the windows along with the boom-shaka-shaka-boom-boom-boom from the bass speakers.

Also, there was massive construction in that open middle section during my stay, dramatically restricting the the number of rooms to the ones out of range of the jack hammers .... those started at 7am. So the boom-shaka-shaka-boom-boom-boom started at about 10pm and lasted until 5:30am. Then the jack hammers started at 7am. And in a room with no AC. I did have a two fireplaces in the suite for those chilly Singapore nights.

Altogether a disaster. I won't return.
I think I was there at the same time as you in June 2012. I recall the AC being broken throughout the property for about 24hours. I arrived mid-evening from LHR and the AC must have packed in at some point after 10pm. I called reception at about 3am (as I assumed I just couldn't work the AC panel with my jetlagged brain) and they delivered a massive upright fan within minutes of my call. Blow-drying my hair in the heat and humidity the next morning was not fun, but on the flip-side it did help me acclimatise really quickly.

On arrival back to my room after a late dinner on the second evening, the problem seemed to be fixed. I also received an apology note, together with a bottle of Moet and some nibbles. The apology note also offered a free night for future use - which I availed myself of in June 2013.

The drilling in the conference suite areas was really annoying though.

I am not exactly a connoisseur of lux hotels, but despite the AC problem the FBH tops all my other experiences.
