Keep checking. Even if the first time you call results in a, "I am sorry, we didn't find that" keep calling. It all depends on the policies of the hotel. Mine requires that security retrieves the item from the room, so housekeepers can't keep it on their cart, in a closet or turn it into a place that will become a pile of things. I think the recovery successes have been a lot higher due to that. The difficult part is that a lot of guests don't realize they left things behind and we can't call them and ask about it. We have to wait for the guests to call and that could be weeks, even months. Most non-electronic items are kept for 90 days, and electronics are kept for six months. Again, there is no one size fits all type of lost and found.
But, don't give up. I hope that in the end, you get those glasses returned.
