Some of the apparent anger here is just people venting online at a persistent frustration because they're too polite (or timid) to do it in real life. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
The more prevalent uncivil behaviour remains that of people inconsiderately blocking moving walkways and escalators, not the odd one who might ask them brusquely to move.
We travelled with young kids too - it is possible in most circumstances to prevent that being a burden on anyone but the parents.
