Denver International Airport is awesome-ish
So I brought a Starbucks bag with me into Denver. It contained two mugs, a USB wall plug, a pack of rolling papers, $9.98, and a Hyatt room key.
I leave the bag at gate A53. By the end of that same day, it was returned to lost and found. I paid $28 to have it shipped to me. I received it - and everything is there, but the $9.98. Unless they hid it really well and I couldn't find it - the lost and found department probably kept that money as a tip.
I attribute this success in retrieving my bag to a person sitting next to me with a dog, these two got to "know me" and realize what flight I was waiting for, and what my bags were. I say this, because we were in the center seating area - so people from 4-5 gates may have been sitting there. I got up and picked everything up (coat, backpack, carry-on luggage), and leave the starbucks bag behind.
Quite obvious to these people, who I believe turned it into security.
Due to it being in the terminal - unattended, it is also possible that security picked it up quick.
I have also had similar luck with a hotel, they found some chargers I left behind and mailed them to me. I think for free even.
