Many companies require the travel to complete before reimbursements are done. In fact, I don't think I've ever worked for a firm that allowed us to pre-expense travel, although I have worked for some that had a mechanism to central-bill airfares so they never hit your personal card.
Not that I have come across. Expense reimbursement at anywhere I have been has been as soon as the expense is incurred
