Don't want to spoil your celebration but I think you might have to... or just get a the treatment of a third class plat and hardly chances of decent upgrades. It makes a difference how many nights you clock every year, lifetime or not.
The lifetime status is always next to your "real" status in the systems... and the latter determines your treatment. Lifetime is merely the metal card and free lounge/internet. At least that is my experience. I would be happy if people correct me on that one.
Thankfully I have my umbrella open as you try to rain on my parade!
When I travel for leisure with my kids, the free lounge/breakfast is what is important to me, so having lifetime platinum is important for that reason alone! ^
