Not to be compared to Amanpuri , perhaps a more colourful modern Trisara villa
I like some of COMO's offerings, but this place doesn't appeal at all.

This is another good option in Thailand if you have the time to research properly- also on Samui we rented a beautiful villa with two swimming pools and a full time staff and it was great and very private.
Yea I've seen a few private villas in Phuket and Samui. Definitely a different option to staying at resorts. I've often found the service better than many resorts I've stayed at, but then like I said, I haven't stayed at Trisara or Aman.

Want to stay at a private villa in Phuket for my next trip over actually...

Villa resort I stayed in was "Maikhao Dream Villa Resort & Spa" - classic Thai architecture and design, with a touch of European influences.

It's really far from town, but that's also a good thing if you just want to relax. Maikhao beach (coarse brown sand though) is just outside your villa, with a personal entrance from villa to beach just outside your doorstep if you book a 2-bedroom. Beach is very secluded, barely a soul on it, so very private.

All villas come with a plunge pool (or two) and separate jacuzzi. Unfortunately, they're all also at sea-level so there's no real view. Service is very genuine and homely at the resort, and I found it of a good standard. There's only one food option at the resort, but it's decent food (nothing spectacular), but it can get tiresome if you stay for too long.

Overall, a pretty good option if you're looking for that sort of thing, and a slightly cheaper option than staying at Trisara/Aman. Definitely a good option for families too, with the size of the villas (5,000/7,000 sq ft).
