If BA does not compete, in the long run it will decline.
If this ever happens then BA will have to do so much to get me back. As is now when my kids fly to the ME, it is always EK from JFK, or DC.
I once persuaded a friend to fly EK from JFK, and he is a BA premier. He just loved it. Loved having a car on all legs, the shower, the ICE everything about it, except the bling, but that is normal.
And profitability of any airline isn't my concern, what matters to me is the product that they deliver for my money.
