Bolding mine. I have to disagree here. IIRC AC E190s are considered mainline instead of express (or whatever equivalent they have), so J gets printed menus with 3 main course choices. And, at least to me, their Y seats felt like they had more room (and comfort) than others. For short hops up and down the coast, I think it's a decent experience. Considering UA's pathetic RJ service even in F, it's not
that surprising that the OP might rather fly AC Y.
