the past few years i've been holding the amex platinum as its been good to me as far as the 200 dollar credit, priority pass...i've used concierge and FHR ( on honeymoon), and few other benefits but the travel benefits is what kept me going back along with good customer service.

i've been thinking of switching to the United club card for few reason. I do realize that award chart devalued but i mostly fly coach so not big impact. I am thinking of the club because first my main airport is IAH, so united is a major for me. secondly i use alot of chase cards for UR points and transfer to United so it makes it easier to think of the United club card for this switch. even though i do get extra 50% on the card if i spend on it and use on United awards. other than the additional United miles having access to lounges is a major for me. I haven't researched lounge access much but at least i would have united club lounges for travel within the US. the card also gives access to SOME star alliance lounges abroad too so i need to see if thats compatible network with priority pass?

i don't travel frequently but do take international trips once or twice a year and 1-3 times a year domestically.

so i wanted to get some opinions if this card would suite me better than the platinum. i've always wished i had the card when the plat. card had access to continentals before the merger but that was before i started this game of getting miles and traveling.
