Trousers [Guardian article on BA cabin crew uniform]

I was just browsing the Guardian website and spotted this article.
http://www.theguardian.com/commentis...rline-industry

I was a little surprised that female cabin crew don't have the option of wearing trousers. Is there any real reason that skirts are required? I reckon a lady looks smart in either trousers or a skirt myself.

Not being a regular skirt wearer myself I imagine that it could be rather more drafty on occasion so I'm with those wanting to wear the trousers if they want.

Perhaps the story is just a bit of fluff. Or maybe trouble is brewing over the issue. Anyone know?
